Valerio Residence

When my client presented me with the opportunity to explore a 1940s Craftsman, but  cautioned me to keep an open mind, I knew we would embarking on a transformative  journey. The original dwelling was converted into a convalescent home and most  recently had been left vacant for years, virtually nothing was salvageable beyond the  exterior wall studs, and even those required significant replacement. It was a structure  that demanding a complete overhaul.

Our approach centered on honoring the home's original Craftsman charm while  adapting it to suit the needs of a young, active family. We reconfigured the floor plan to  foster both privacy and communal gathering spaces, ensuring every corner served a  purpose. Additionally, we created a new space by incorporating a granny unit on the  lower level, enhancing the home's functionality and value.

The result is a lovingly restored Craftsman residence that seamlessly blends its historic  roots with contemporary living essentials, providing a haven where this family can thrive  and make lasting memories.

“With what began as an overwhelming project, Jenny (JAID) brought calming leadership, expertise as a partner/liaison, and a BRILLIANT design sense. Jenny helped us hone an ambitious vision for our property into a cohesive and beautiful reality. She did so without ego but with professionalism, warmth and an adept ability to communicate, collaborate, and carry our vision forward with all involved in the execution. Not only did she get this project across the finish line, she did so gracefully, making another little corner of the world immensely more beautiful. Thank you, JAID!”
